out of curiosity I looked into the sarah kendzior suspension
- no posts remaining in the jetstream playback stand out as suspension worthy
- the mod action was !suspend rather than !takedown, so I wonder if it's just temporary
a limited view of it all but that's what I'm seeing
Every time this happens, I got some level of anxiety imagining what would happen if my account got suspended because something I said was deemed inappropriate, and I would be left to shout into an empty void on my independent PDS…
I really dislike this aspect of the place. We don't know why or how it happens, by whom, and no one responds. You are ever the gentleman, and, if you have the concern, we all have the concern.
Thank you :) yeah, that is the part of the whole "website" that I'm still not satisfied with… not in terms of specific cases, but that it just feels too centralized. I know this is all a hard problem and that we've made a lot of progress (like e.g. Blacksky's WIP AppView), but it's still not enough…
We need more diversity/options, more transparency about everything around moderation, and more practical "composability", so that one day mod.bsky.app deciding that you've irreversibly crossed a line doesn't mean a death sentence for your Bluesky life, and I think we're still quite away from there…
based on aaron’s comments and sarah’s substack comments, it sounds like a perm, but who knows
she was cross posting to microblog i think
micro.blog/sarahkendzio...
Since she undoubtedly knows what she's been accused of by now, there's no point in the rest of us getting exercised over it until she makes a public statement.
The management knows what happened. If it were an error, Bluesky would have fixed it. It's for cause. We don't yet know what cause.
